Asha Miles PhD
Bio
Asha brings more than a decade of experience in dairy science, with expertise in genetics, epidemiology, and microbiomes. She earned her B.S. in Biotechnology and M.S. in Animal Biology from UC Davis, followed by a Ph.D. in Animal Science from Cornell University. She later conducted postdoctoral research at Penn State and served as a Research Geneticist with USDA’s Animal Genomics and Improvement Laboratory, where she partnered with the Council on Dairy Cattle Breeding to deliver national genetic and genomic evaluations.
At DRMS, Asha provides leadership to staff, producers, and service affiliates with a focus on supporting the nonprofit’s mission of serving dairy with research-backed tools and exceptional support. She is especially passionate about turning complex science into practical solutions that benefit producers and the industry.
Outside of work, Asha has worn many hats — from NCAA Division I rower to master gardener — and still brings that same energy and curiosity to every role she takes on.
